This December, JD Malat Gallery welcomes back Swiss artist Conrad Jon Godly with Renaissance, his most personal and ambitious exhibition to date. Spanning two floors and featuring over thirty works, it marks not only his first show in four years but also a profound declaration of rebirth.
"After four years, when I was closer to death than to life, I feel reborn," Godly shares. The exhibition reflects his journey through personal trials that almost extinguished his creative flame. Yet, from those shadows, a spark endured, reigniting into the fiery passion evident in every piece of Renaissance.
Drawing inspiration from the timeless power of mountains, Godly's mastery shines through his signature trio of colours-black, blue, and green. A shift from oil to acrylic brings greater depth and vibrancy to his work, while his photography background imbues it with a realism that transcends the visual, becoming spiritual and meditative. Like the historical Renaissance, Godly's collection signifies rediscovery, transformation, and a bold new chapter. His mountains, though grounded in nature, are invitations to reflect on resilience and the beauty of starting anew. Renaissance runs from 12th December 2024 to 18th January 2025 at JD Malat Gallery, Mayfair, London. A celebration of life's power to renew, it's an exhibition not to be missed.
