Gritty, captivating and excitingly witty, Yann Leto's solo exhibition 'Big City' presents a raw and unparalleled portrayal of society. At a time where social and political critique in art is perfectly apt to the current shared global unrest, 'Big City' offers the public a space to reflect on the joys and toils of life. Leto's exhibition will run from 2 February until 4 March in our Mayfair gallery. Having exhibited globally in the USA, Spain, France, Italy, and Colombia, the young French artist made his mark in the art scene with his unconventional perspective on city life and the human form. Taking inspiration from the visual language of the 20th century, and exploring equivocal topics that range from jazz and lust to alcoholism and political unrest, Leto's oil paintings mirror the unforgettably poignant work of the underground culture of the 90s and post-war artists such as Otto Dix (1891 - 1969); begging the question 'what is contemporary society at conflict with today?'
